Welcome God With Open Arms
Don’t be misled. Remember that you can’t ignore God and get away with it. You will always reap what you sow!
-- Galatians 6:7 (NLT)
Do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. -- Galatians 6:7 (NIV)
It’s good to read different versions of the Bible. Contrary to what some folks believe, the King James Bible wasn’t the first translation. While I own several of those, along with the New King James Version, I’ve spent most of my study time with the New International Version. This year I’m reading the New Living Translation. I still go back to the NIV sometimes. I like to compare versions. I’ve come to really appreciate the plainness of the NLT.
Like in Galatians. It just tells the truth. You can’t ignore God. Best not to even try. Ever. Bad things happen when you try to ignore what God wants you to do. That’s one of those been there, done that, don’t ever want to go back things. Know what I’m talking about? Yeah, most people have been there once or twice.
I was talking earlier with a young man who has turned his life around. He laughingly told me he really didn’t understand how he’d survived his past. His life is different now, focused on God and his child and rebuilding a life that had hit bottom. Now he chooses God and that has made all the difference.
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful desires will harvest the consequences of decay and death. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. -- Galatians 6:8
Life changes when you start living out in the open. A light shines on your path and the way seems clear for the first time. You’re no longer ignoring God. Your arms are wide-open and you’re embracing Him. It feels really good, doesn’t it?
