The Greatest Gift Is Free

"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost." -- Isaiah 55:1

The economy has dominated discussion for a couple of years. Either we've lost financial footing or we know someone who has. All of us have pretty much tightened our economic belts "just in case." It's caused a lot of stress for everyone.

That makes the gift of Christ's salvation especially sweet. It's free. Yep. Doesn't cost a thing. You don't even have to jump through hoops, press alot of buttons on the telephone or stand in line until your number is called. All you have to do is accept. It really is that easy.

What Christ offers is so much better than anything else we could ever have. Think about it. We can have absolutely the best lunch today. But you know what? We'll be hungry again in no time. The "food" that God has given us lasts forever. His gift will fill us up with the Holy Spirit and it'll last throughout eternity.

God sent His only Son to die on a cross for us. Jesus took our sins -- yours and mine -- onto Himself so that those of us who believe could spend eternity with God. Then He sent a wonderful Counselor, the Holy Spirit, to live within us. How awesome is that!

The greatest gift we'll ever know was freely given to us by our Heavenly Father to nourish our souls. Share it with everyone you know.
