God Is Our Safe Place
"The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms."
-- Deuteronomy 33:27a
Ever had one of those days? Everybody wants something. There aren't enough hours in the day to fill the needs of everyone and do the things that must be done. Taking care of self doesn't even factor into the equation. It's all about keeping your head above water while the waves continue to crash toward you.
I tell myself it could be so much worse. And I know that's true. Somehow that makes me feel that much more stressed, like I've added the burden of being ungrateful. It isn't true, of course. I am grateful. I'd just like to catch my breath. A little sleep would be nice too.
So I run to the only safe place I know -- the arms of my Heavenly Father. I can lay my head down and find rest and strength to face the coming hours and days. I don't know how anyone can face the day without His Presence. I wouldn't want to even try.
