Jesus Welcomes All Believers

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." -- John 14:6

Jesus is a popular guy. Many people claim to know Him when they really just know His name. That doesn't mean they've got a one-way ticket to heaven. Knowing His name and accepting Him as Lord and Savior aren't the same thing at all.

So many people don't understand that. When someone tries to explain to them about Jesus and what He did for us, they brush them off. They're certain they know who Jesus is. Except they've never invited Him into their lives. And that makes all the difference.

Even Muslims believe Jesus existed. They believe He was only a prophet. Other religions think He was a wise man. Most will admit He existed. But, hey, I exist too. Jesus was different. He is different. He came to earth as God's son, led a sinless life and died on the cross as He paid the price for my sins and yours. Then three days later He rose and now resides in heaven with God. That's where I'm heading one day. How about you?

The path to heaven is easy. Really, it is. People sometimes think it's supposed to be really complicated. We should be jumping through hoops, running a marathon and juggling 10 things all at once. Okay, maybe not exactly like that but you see where I'm going with this. They keep looking for the catch and there isn't one.

Jesus died for all of us. Because we are sinners, we are separated from God. Jesus sacrificed Himself so that we could be reconciled with God and have eternal life. Jesus is the ticket to heaven. We have to accept His gift of salvation, invite Him into our lives and believe that He truly is God's son. Everything changes when the Holy Spirit comes to live within us. We change.

See, it's not a secret. It's not an exclusive club. Admission to heaven is open to anyone who believes. It's easy. Just ask Him. Jesus is always available and His door is always open. He loves us. He died for us. It really is that simple.
