God Is There No Matter What
"My hope is in you. Save me from all my transgressions; do not make me the scorn of fools." -- Psalm 39:7a-8
"My hope is in you. Save me from all my transgressions; do not make me the scorn of fools." -- Psalm 39:7a-8
Have you ever had one of those uh-oh moments? You know what I'm talking about. It's that instant when you know you have really and truly messed up. And you need to fix it but don't even know where to start.
David knew a little bit about messing up. He had everything and still wasn't content. He had to have Bathsheba. So he did. His adultery led to the death of Bathsheba's husband and the death of the child she and David conceived.
David was a man after God's own heart. If he could mess up so badly, that doesn't bode well for me. And, yet, God says that no matter how badly we mess up, He will forgive us if we repent and ask for His forgiveness. There are consequences. But He will be with us and guide us through the path to salvation and forgiveness.
The psalms are filled with David's plea for God's mercy and help. The psalms also are filled with praise for God. Because God loves us and stands with us no matter what. He is good and loving and kind. Our hope forever rests in Him no matter how badly we mess up.
