You Are Royalty

All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold."
-- Psalm 45:13

Everywhere we look there seems to be an advertisement telling us we need to be beautiful, sensual, thin, etc. The ads tell us our appearances determine our value. I realize they're just trying to sell their products but they're selling young girls -- and some women -- a bunch of lies about their self-worth.

In some circles, who your family is matters greatly. So let's take a look at yours. Do you believe in Jesus Christ? Have you accepted Him as your Lord and Savior? Then that makes you a child of God. You know. The King of Kings. The Creator of the Universe. You're royalty! You can't get a better lineage than that.

Okay, now that we've got that settled, take a look at how you're made. Your body, your personality, your strengths and weaknesses. You know the drill. Let's see. Oh, right. God made you to be unique and just as you are. You were created in His image. You're perfect. Well, maybe you're working toward it. Just focus on being more like Jesus and you'll be just fine.

Funny, I haven't mentioned anything about weight, hair color or lack of clothing. That's right. Those things don't matter in God's world. They aren't valuable to anyone but Satan. Don't let him in to your mind. Don't let him grab hold of your worth. You belong to God. Remember that!

So don't buy in to the advertisements that say you aren't enough. Don't believe the images of perfection that are nothing more than illusion. Whenever you start to feel insecure, remember that your Father is the King. You are a princess. Live like it.
