God Welcomes Our Differences
"Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge."
-- Psalm 62: 8
Have you ever felt the sting of rejection? Most of us have at some point. Maybe it was the person who didn't want to be your friend. Maybe it was the job you really wanted but didn't get. Maybe it was rejection from a spouse, a parent, a sibling. There are so many paths to rejection.
I'm so grateful that God never rejects me. He always welcomes me with open arms. He listens when I pour out my heartache to Him. He comforts me and dries my tears, removing the sting of rejection with his loving acceptance.
Life is full of disappointments, especially for people who don't fit the norm. We walk on the edge, looking in at a world that sees us as different and not worthy. People want friends and family, employees and club members, who are like them. Different is, well, different. It makes people uncomfortable. They reject what is uncomfortable.
I'm thankful that God welcomes our differences. He created us, after all, to be unique. He loves us just as we are, where we are. He is our refuge when the world rejects who we are.
