Fill Mind With Holy Spirit

"Do not comform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." -- Romans 12:2a

I know I would be a better person if I could just shut my mind up. I wouldn't think ugly thoughts. I wouldn't want things I don't have and really don't need. I would stop thinking about myself when there are so many people in this world who are hurting and alone.

Wow. That mountain seems almost too high, too rocky, too fraught with pitfalls for me to navigate. Then I remind myself that God is with me on this journey. And I remember I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I need to let go of that arrogant nature that wants me to believe I know more than I do. I need to relinquish my pride in what God has given me, not claiming it as accomplishments or things I have somehow earned but giving Him credit for all He does for me.

I need to be content with what I have and stop wanting things simply because someone else has them or because society tells me I should.

I need to release the hold of stubbornness and give my life over to God to use as He will rather than as I will.

I need to stop clinging to my selfish nature that calls me to keep what is mine and instead learn to share God's gifts with others who have less.

I need to turn my mind over to the Holy Spirit and welcome God's renewal within me. I need to get out of the way as the Holy Spirit reeducates my mind and redirects my thoughts to comform them to His good, pleasing and perfect will.
